Rejecting object

Mentioned in Fairbairn's endopsychic structural theory

Paired with antilibidinal ego part-self.

This was introduced in Fairbairn's 1944 paper, Endopsychic structure considered in terms of object-relationships.

From the view of the antilibinal ego, the rejecting object is seen as privileged, advantaged, important, and necessary. It is stuck to persistently as a gatekeeper. The antilibidinal hopes that through protest the rejecting object would change.
