n. an error that is believed to express unconscious wishes, attitudes, or impulses. Examples of such errors include slips of the pen, slips of the tongue and other forms of verbal leakage, forgetting significant events, mislaying objects with unpleasant associations, unintentional puns, and motivated accidents. Also called parapraxia. See also Freudian slip; symptomatic act. source
